I’m not one to get homesick but the nostalgia that comes with this time of year always sneaks up on me. Back in Los Angeles, my family and friends know how to holiday– with festive dinners, large gatherings, and Love Actually viewing parties.
But one of the reasons I moved was to learn, explore, and make deep, lasting connections in a completely new place. And so I’m incredibly thankful for my friends here– both old and new– who’ve made New York feel a bit more like home.
A special shout out to my former L.A. Times colleagues, Spencer and Emily for hosting the most magical pre-Thanksgiving meal at their lovely Crown Heights home.
