Unclaimed love locks in Brooklyn will make me rich one day

Today, I took a stroll around DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) in Brooklyn. Its small waterfront neighborhood is home to some of the city’s best restaurants and FOMO-inducing Instagram shots.

Almost immediately, I was drawn to the hundreds of padlocks placed on the both bridge and by the river. The tradition, similar to Paris and Rome’s, symbolizes love and commitment.

Some locks had initials, names, and dates engraved on them. But most told nothing about the people who put them there or why. IMAGINE all the different LOVE stories! I think I may have just stumbled upon the next big romance franchise. Move over, Nicholas Sparks! 😉
