My kind of rooftop views

During my time in Tanzania, there were a handful of moments that quite literally took my breath away. As in I couldn’t speak. Which if you know me, you understand is hard to do.

This photo was taken by my brother while we were finishing up a game drive on the Serengeti. We had a long day, scouring the plains for animals– we were tired, sun burnt, and dusty.

But then something happened. The light shifted, casting us a cool shade we’d been longing for all day. The sun then hid behind the clouds, giving them a piercing purple, pink, and orange hue.  Safari-goers in the nearby  cruisers fell silent. (Only thing you could hear were the clicks and zooms of people camera lens’.)

Time stood still.

Millions of people experience incredible sunsets all over the world every day. But it doesn’t matter how many sunsets you’ve seen, when you see one like this, it feels like… the sun was made to set for you.
