Giraffes who brunch

The African monsoon– March, April, and May– results in increased water levels and thick, dense shrubbery across the plains. The Serengeti is buzzing with life this time of year.

Fast-forward to our family trip in mid October, aka dry season and the grass was a bit sparse and yellow. This photo is one of the many times where we happened upon a pair of giraffes enjoying the dry, scattered landscape.

I imagine that they’re buddies. Just hanging out and enjoying a light, crunchy snack.
